These salted butter caramels are made in Chicago by Katie Das, using local ingredients whenever possible: honey from Wisconsin, walnuts from Missouri, and cream and butter from southern Illinois. She also uses high quality organic rice syrup and natural cane sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup or white sugar. But perhaps even more impressive than the quality of the ingredients, is her skillful layering of flavors to produce simply delicious, original confections.
